Cemex
Cemex and net zero
Cemex is the largest emitter of carbon in Warwickshire and contributes heavily to the county's carbon footprint.
Cemex have submitted a planning application to Warwickshire County Council to add infrastructure to the site, and increase the number of lorries coming in and out of the site. Details are on the Cemex website and the application is on the Warwickshire County Council planning portal.
There was an exhibition in May 2023, and this linked the application to the company's stated aim to be Net Zero by 2050.
This page does not contain comment on the application, but is a repository of information for anyone wanting to understand more about cement production.
Transition Town Rugby will discuss and respond to the application once it is made and the consultation is opened.
